About Wet Basement Inspections

Dan Gibson, founder of wetbasementinspections.com,  is an Ohio-Licensed Home Inspector (OHI.2019004933) and has been providing high-level home inspections with Detailed Home Inspections in Cleveland, Ohio since 2016, through February, 2024. Wet Basement Inspections are not afraid to go to areas of the house that the homeowner will not visit for the next 25-30 years, so we know about wet basement inspections:

After getting started in the real estate industry in 2011 as a real estate investor, it quickly became evident that a career in professional home inspections would be a great fit for Dan. Having been brought into the home inspection industry and trained/mentored by Pete Mizeres, Dan quickly rose through the ranks of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) to become an ASHI-Certified Inspector. (ASHI #262203). Dan Gibson is also an Ohio State Licensed Home Inspector (OHI.2019004933). This would not have been possible without extensive training – on and off the job, and a huge passion and enthusiasm for both: understanding building systems and components; and relaying the technical information to clients in an easy to understand manner.

Over the years we have seen many leaky Ohio basements. Countless scenarios where leaky basements, crawlspaces, and even slab-on-grade foundations have obvious issues on the exterior that are allowing water to accumulate against the walls of the home, which either leaks into the home or undermines the foundation. In most cases, leakage around foundations could have been prevented over the several years leading up to larger foundation repair issues or waterproofing projects if only homeowners and property investors were aware of the issues before they became major defects to the home or building. Thus, wet basement inspections was born.

“Wet Basement Inspections has been amazing. It has been a pleasure to meet them.”
